    • Regular Alterations: 4 weeks

    • Formal wear: 4 weeks

  • We will always try to give funeral items an exception

  • Ask us about rush spots for a nominal fee

Announcements

Before I dive into this announcement, I want you all to know that Meaghan and I are still best friends and there is nothing but love between us. It has been an amazing experience to be able to spend our work days together, laughing, and doing what we love to do most. 

 

As most of you know, Meaghan has 2 kids (9 and 6 years old) and I’ve got 4 kids (10, 8, 5, and 3 years old). We are constantly trying to find the right balance between shop life and home life, without putting ourselves on the backburner too much. It has been increasingly difficult to feel that balance and take care of our mental health the way we should be, which leads us to make the following changes.

 

This has not been an easy decision to make, but as of October 1 Meaghan will be stepping down as co-owner of Zed & Ess. Quality workmanship will continue to be top priority, as well as trying to keep the wait times as low as realistically possible. This means the hours will need to change slightly to give me some uninterrupted time to complete all of the back office work. Closing an hour earlier gives me more time to focus on my home tasks, and be more present as a mom and wife. I will be available for after hours appointments on a case by case basis. I recognize that by closing at 3 on days we used to be open until 4 makes it more difficult for those who don’t finish school/work until 3.

 

I have adjusted the amount of slots available in the system to what I believe is reasonable for me to complete in a timely manner. Once I get into the swing of things with this transition, I will likely make some slight changes to keep things moving smoothly. The best way to get in touch with me if you have any questions is to text, email, or message through the website. I will always do my best to reply as quickly as possible, but the quality of work I put out is everything for Zed & Ess so I may not be able to stop mid-sewing to answer the phone. 

 

I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as I figure things out. This shop, the customers (some of whom have become good friends, you know who you are!), and our place in the community holds a big space in my heart. It is very important to me to do whatever I can to keep this shop running well, while also putting more energy into myself and in turn my children, husband, and home.
